Life is crazy.   One minute your getting on the school bus for the first time, and the next minute your graduating.  One minute you’re wishing you didn’t have to listen to your parents, and the next minute you’re buying your first home.  Sometimes, as we look into the future, we feel like we are never going to get to where we want to be.  But, the next thing you know, we’re looking back reminiscing about the days of the past.

I’m saying that to say this.  13 years is a long time, but it seems like just yesterday the Notorious B.I.G. was blessing us with his incredible music.  Well, 13 years ago today, his life came to a tragic end.  No need to go into detail about his death because we’ve already heard the details a million times.  I’m writing this not as an informative article, but as a memorial to one of the greatest emcees of all time.  One of the few hip hop icons to ever have a high budget motion picture dedicated to their life.  One of the few deceased celebrities that are still thought of and spoken about on a daily basis.

As an artist and as a die hard hip hop fan myself, it’s hard not to appreciate the contribution that Biggie gave to the culture of hip hop. From the wordplay to the creative storytelling, to the fashion and the jewelry.  To the vulnerability he showed in his hardcore rhymes, proving that gangsters have feelings too and emotions are a part of every single human beings makeup.  Biggie was more than a rapper.  He was a trendsetter, a father, and an inspiration to millions and will never be forgotten.  13 years?  Holler back in another 13 years and I’ll bet you B.I.G.’s just as relevant then as he is today.  Gone but never forgotten.  Today I want everybody to at least take a minute to play some of Biggie’s music, even if you never were a big fan.

Is Brooklyn in the house? Without a doubt!  And Mr. Wallace is glowing from heaven!

They Gotta Love It

They Gotta Love It - feat. Oseeola, Jab, Dux Jones, JStrode

Some things are just undeniable, good music is one of them!  This weeks 52/50 single “They gotta love it” (Remix) definitely lives up to the title.  Featuring every artist in the Frontstreet fam, “They gotta love it” is more than a song, its a celebration.

So what more could you ask for?  With sick wordplay, a contagious chorus and a classic track that could only be created by The Skouts, one thing is certain- the haters are listening, but even “they gotta love it!”

StreetWear -

Hip Hop and fashion make the perfect marriage… Remember how LL wore Kango’s, or how Run DMC rocked Adidas, remember when B.I.G. made Coogi, and when Kanye West became the “Louie Vuitton Don”?

Now it’s our turn; FrontStreet Records recording artist OSEEOLA is StreetWear, period!

From the “Nobody Fronted Us” – s1 compilation – StreetWear, an ode to a culture inspired by a retro 80′s look, hipsters, and sneakers. This record is exactly what the culture has been missing, its anthem!

StreetWear is the “Star Spangled Banner” of the young, fly, and flashy.

The track has a potent bounce and is yet still soulful. Produced by The Skoutz Productions, Oseeola’s swagger and wordplay on the record is serious business this is the get fresh anthem!
