The only #1 seed pulls it off – barely!!!
Duke won it’s fourth National Championship on Monday April 5, 2010 by beating Butler 61-59. I must admit Hayward’s half court shot would have made, in my opinion, the best NCAA National Championship game I’ve seen in years, almost EPIC!!!!
This game is the reason why college basketball is amazing to watch. With most of the second half behind, Butler fought back… It was like “The Rumble in the Jungle” just this time, Foreman won.
Down 47-43, Butler got a stop.
Down 51-47, Butler got a stop.
Down 56-51, Butler got two stops.
Down 60-55, Butler got a stop.
The missed Duke free throw, Hayward’s half court shot – back board, in and out!!! WOW!!!
According to ESPN, the closes Title game since 1989 when Michigan beat Seton Hall by 1!!!!
As the entire world was pulling for the underdog, the reality of the matter is Duke (at least last night) was the better team, kudos to Duke and Coah K.
Bulldogs, you have absolutely nothing to be upset about. One hell of a game and one hell of a run!!!! See you next March!!!!!!
