This must be the year for break ups and cheaters.  First the Tiger Woods incident(s), then Sandra Bullock files for divorce, and now Tikki Barber!

The former New York Giant and current NBC Today show correspondent left his wife Ginny, who is 8 months pregnant, for Traci Lynn Johnson.  The 23 year old Johnson is a former NBC intern who has been photographed with the NFL great at  a screening for a documentary in Washington D.C. last month, and is believed to have accompanied Barber to Senegal for the filming while his wife was 3 months pregnant.

11 years of marriage and two sons (with another child on the way) weren’t enough to keep the former running back from straying away from home.  Who’s next?

leave us your comments and let us know what you think…

Gaines Adams Bears defensive end dead at 26

Gaines-Adams-Bears-defensive-end-

Gaines Adams of the Chicago Bears died Sunday morning after being taken to an emergency room in Greenwood, S.C.

Sadly, this NFL defensive end was pronounced dead around 9 a.m. Sunday morning.  The Anderson County forensic pathologist will perform an autopsy today and hopefully we will know more about this untimely and tragic event.

Adams was only 26, but had already played 3 seasons with the Bucs and the Bears after being drafted by Tampa Bay with the no. 4 pick in 2007. The 6-foot-5, 256 pound Defensive End played 47 games and had 67 tackles and 13.5 sacks.

Our condolences go out to his family and his fans and we will keep you posted on any further updates on this story.

Wes Welker injury-New England Patriots

What a way to end the season for the new England Patriots! First one of their star receivers gets injured, then they lose the final game of the season.

New England was ready to close out a 10-5 season with one more victory before they entered the playoffs. Then, on their first possession of the game, Wes Welker caught a pass from Tom Brady and collapsed to the ground as he attempted to run upfield. Coincidentally he was trying to avoid safety Brandon Pollard who was the same player responsible for Tom Brady’s knee injury back in ’08. Welker’s knee buckled and he was on the field for a few minutes before he was taken away on a cart.

The Pats would go on to lose the game 34-27 and it appears that Welker will not be back until at least early to mid next season.  Wes Welker set a franchise record for receptions (123) this season, despite missing two games, and was a very important part of the Patriots high powered offense. Hopefully the Pats can utilize Randy Moss and some of their other big scorers in the first round of the playoffs as they host the Baltimore Ravens. Good luck!

Steelers vs. Dolphins

Pat White, meet Ike Taylor. With 2:05 left in the third quarter of the game between the Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rookie quarterback, Pat White from West Virginia, was slobber knockered by Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor. The scary helmet to helmet tackle left White motionless for a few moments while the training staff and medical team tried to address the injury. Everyone in Land Shark Stadium let out a collective gasp when the hit occurred, as they also let out a sigh of relief when White regained motion while lying on the ground. Though White was carted off with his head and neck stabilized for precautionary purposes, White did not suffer any paralysis or spinal injury according to ESPN reports. White did suffer a concussion and is recuperating.

White was the second quarterback which the Steelers knocked out of the game. Chad Henne was sidelined in the game from an eye injury.

The Steelers won the game 30-24 but were eliminated from the playoffs with Baltimore’s win over the Oakland Raiders.
