We’ve been hip to her since Mr. Postman was featured in HYPEBEASTRai Knight is from Warren, MI and is signed to FrontStreet Records, she works with The Skouts production team and writes her own material. Nonetheless, she’s dope and I forecast some huge news from her rather soon

NEW NEW – RAI KNIGHT

Rai Knight - New New

No theme, no filler, “New New” is one page from the autobiography of Rai Knight.

Since “Mr. Postman” a lot has happened for Rai Knight as FrontStreet Records gears up for her second release “New New”.

“New New” is the excitement about the journey Knight is on; about her music being heard, her insecurities and confidence. Its a range of emotions about being who she is.

Rai Knight’s music would get your attention and her passion will capture your heart.

NBA All-Star Game Basketball match - Dallas

So this weekend I went to Dallas for the NBA All-Star game. I got to town on Friday night. My first stop was to Jack in the Box, a restaurant I have heard a lot about but have never had the opportunity to try, the Philly Steak sandwich was pretty good by the way. Then I had the choice of what to do. I had to go get a peek at the new Cowboys Stadium. WOW! That’s my impression. The thing looks like a giant spaceship landed in Arlington and opened itself up for events. It reall was a site to see. Then I began to look for what was poppin’ in the Big D. There were TONS of parties jumpin’ off. I wanted to show up to everyone of then, except for one fact, the cover charge. I know that this is a big weekend for the city and it’s businesses but come on. Prices for services and clubs were JACKED!!!!! For a rinky-dink club with nobodys performing the cover was five times the normal amount. And if you wanted to go to a jump off, ppsssshh, you might as well take out loans. The parties were averaging around $75 to get in, then once in, $25 for chicken fingers etc. Prices were outrageous! This is where balla’ status comes into play. If I was a balla’ I could have been rubbing elbows with Diddy and Russell Simmons. I could have been grovin’ on the dance floor with Carmen Electra. The truth is, I almost went broke just by getting tickets to the game, taking off a weekend of work and driving my butt to Dallas. I wanted to be all up in those places the whole weekend.

I settled on one party though. It was at the Brooklyn Jazz Club and Kid Capri was the guest DJ. The party was cool until Capri left an hour after I dropped $30 to get in. The place emptied after that as Capri went to another club where the party was hosted by Carmello Anthony, Dewayne Wade and Russell Simmons. After dropping that $30 I really wasn’t in the mood for a $100 entry fee with minimum purchase requirements.  I wish I had the loot so I could have put CDs with  Ten Freaky Girls by Dux Jones and Mr. Postman by Rai Knight into the hands of some of these music executives and big DJs. I did get Capri copies of the two songs but there is a lot more damage I could have done.

The weekend was great though. Dallas was filled to the brim with beautiful people. The women were exquisite. Oh, and I got to attend the biggest basketball game ever, based on attendance. The All-Star game was a classic. There where so many dunks that will be replayed for years to come, and the game came down to the final shot with the east pulling it out. Seeing LeBron, Wade, Amare, Dwight Howard and the other stars all at once, playing together is something I will never forget. I may not have been able to fraternize with the big dogs this time, I was a part of a Guiness world record, the most people ever to attend a basketball game, 108,713 of us saw a classic game in the most amazing arena.
