While locked up rapper Lil’ Wayne wanted to let his friends and family know that he still has love for them so  he released a letter on his site WeezyThankYou.com. In the letter he explains what he’s been up to while serving his sentence at Riker’s and and gives a couple shout out outs.  He calls it “Just Another Day,” and wrote:

What’s poppin?!

Me, I’m good, figured I’d update my glorious fans again. Better sooner than later right? I’ll try to do this more frequently.

Well ain’t nothing going on in here but the time, which seems like it’s taking forever. I’m trying to make the most out of every second tho, mentally. There’s some pretty cool people in here. Even though this isn’t a cool place to be. I’ve learned plenty already and the best lesson is to not come back. Last night, I kicked a– in UNO! …though it’s hot, I still work out. Now don’t be expecting me to look like Hercules when I get out, but I should be a little bulky. I guess.”

In the letter he also gives shouts out to Lindsay Lohan, Chris Paul and Young Money. Clearly Wayne is not missing out on the latest new in gossip, he adds:

Off the subject but hey Chris, I think you should team up with Kobe! Go Lakers! Hey Lindsey, glad it’s over doll. I should have written her huh? Young Money, you’re the best I ever had. Look out for Nino 3, and I Am Not A Human Being. Coming soon.”

He also gave a shout out to his mom and ALL if his kids:

Mother, I love you. Nae, you’re my angel. Lil Tunechi Jr., you’re the man. Lil Kam, you’re the best heartbreaker. Lil Neal, you’re the littler meatball. I love you all.”

At the end of the letter he gave his a BIG shout out to fans that have written him. Now that’s how you keep fans!

Age aint nothin but a number in UFC 109

I just witnessed 2 of the oldest, I mean “seasoned,” fighters in MMA fight in the UFC tonight.  Mark “The Hammer” Coleman took on Randy “The Natural” Couture in the main event of UFC 109.  This fight was actually supposed to happen 11 years ago before Couture hurt his rib and had to pull out of the fight.

Maybe the fight would’ve been more competitive if it had happened then because Randy Couture dominated the fight with his dirty boxing, clinches and ground and pound before submitting Coleman with a choke early in round 2.

Whats more intriguing than the actual fight is the fact that both of these guys are in their mid 40′s (Coleman 45, Couture 46).  Even though most guys lose some of their speed and resilience after years of competing, they both claimed that they feel better than they ever have. I find some truth in that because even though they may not be what they once were physically, they have more knowledge than they did when they were in their primes, and knowledge is power.

What is it that makes guys like Robert Parish and Brett Favre compete professionally for so long? Money?  In some cases yes, but usually its more for the love of the sport and the glory that comes with it.  Guys like Gordie Howe and Randy Couture play and fight for so long because they like to defy the odds and prove to themselves as well as others that they still got it.

Tonight Randy Couture made Mark Coleman respect his elders- A lesson we could all use.

100 Racks - Dux Jones - FrontStreet Records

Dux Jones - 100 Racks - FrontStreet Records

100 Racks

52/50′s soul and passion are the back bone of FrontStreet’s movement, despite those warlike sentiments of ambition and faith which pour out of ever note played and every word sung.  FrontStreet’s mission lies in the story of believing in ourselves from a penny to “100 racks”.  Although, “100 Racks” is not a story about money, on here, Dux Jones roars at the competition with several unapologetic bars and thought provoking lyrics over piano, bass, and drum in a simple enough manner to capture more than just your average hip hop connoisseur.

Simple put, the bar is raised, pay for talent!

Money to Blow – Birdman ft. Lil Wayne, Drake

What can you say about these three?  You have arguably the greatest rapper alive, his non biological father and Mr. Best I ever had himself all on the same track.  If consistency is key then these three got it on lockdown!  Always creative I don’t think they are stretching the truth too much on this one by proclaiming they got “Money to Blow.”
