NBA All-Star Game Basketball match - Dallas

So this weekend I went to Dallas for the NBA All-Star game. I got to town on Friday night. My first stop was to Jack in the Box, a restaurant I have heard a lot about but have never had the opportunity to try, the Philly Steak sandwich was pretty good by the way. Then I had the choice of what to do. I had to go get a peek at the new Cowboys Stadium. WOW! That’s my impression. The thing looks like a giant spaceship landed in Arlington and opened itself up for events. It reall was a site to see. Then I began to look for what was poppin’ in the Big D. There were TONS of parties jumpin’ off. I wanted to show up to everyone of then, except for one fact, the cover charge. I know that this is a big weekend for the city and it’s businesses but come on. Prices for services and clubs were JACKED!!!!! For a rinky-dink club with nobodys performing the cover was five times the normal amount. And if you wanted to go to a jump off, ppsssshh, you might as well take out loans. The parties were averaging around $75 to get in, then once in, $25 for chicken fingers etc. Prices were outrageous! This is where balla’ status comes into play. If I was a balla’ I could have been rubbing elbows with Diddy and Russell Simmons. I could have been grovin’ on the dance floor with Carmen Electra. The truth is, I almost went broke just by getting tickets to the game, taking off a weekend of work and driving my butt to Dallas. I wanted to be all up in those places the whole weekend.

I settled on one party though. It was at the Brooklyn Jazz Club and Kid Capri was the guest DJ. The party was cool until Capri left an hour after I dropped $30 to get in. The place emptied after that as Capri went to another club where the party was hosted by Carmello Anthony, Dewayne Wade and Russell Simmons. After dropping that $30 I really wasn’t in the mood for a $100 entry fee with minimum purchase requirements.  I wish I had the loot so I could have put CDs with  Ten Freaky Girls by Dux Jones and Mr. Postman by Rai Knight into the hands of some of these music executives and big DJs. I did get Capri copies of the two songs but there is a lot more damage I could have done.

The weekend was great though. Dallas was filled to the brim with beautiful people. The women were exquisite. Oh, and I got to attend the biggest basketball game ever, based on attendance. The All-Star game was a classic. There where so many dunks that will be replayed for years to come, and the game came down to the final shot with the east pulling it out. Seeing LeBron, Wade, Amare, Dwight Howard and the other stars all at once, playing together is something I will never forget. I may not have been able to fraternize with the big dogs this time, I was a part of a Guiness world record, the most people ever to attend a basketball game, 108,713 of us saw a classic game in the most amazing arena.

TEN FREAKY GIRLS

Ten-Feaky-Girls - Dux Jones (feat. Oseeola)

New World Order apparently!

Success brings envy yet the funny part is we can’t see you when we’re high off life enjoying the fruits; cash, cars, and women!

Off two iTunes “New & Notable” features and mix show rotation at Detroit’s biggest station – Channel 955, the world is getting much smaller, they ask “don’t you and the Losers be all around the world?” It’s crazy what these girls do when they “love” you. Seems like only yesterday I was dreaming of just being, now I’m Willie Beamen!?

On “10 Freaky GirlsOseeola and Dux Jones swap stories about how late nights turn into great nights to “we can do these every weekend” evenings!

Much different when you’re an L7 member, we don’t front to stunt. It just happens!

WORLD FAMOUS LOSERS

When you hear the words “World Famous” spoken, you anticipate prestige, when the word “Loser” is uttered it illustrates failure.  With such an oxymoron for an album title, it makes one wonder- what are the contents of this work?  What’s the message?  It’s simple; with desire comes work and although you’ve been ridiculed and “destined” to fail, you work to prove yourself right NOT to prove anyone wrong!

The WFL Compilation has it all; striking melodies (“Cut, Color, Clarity”, “Maneater”, “Do it”, “Breaking all the Laws”), striking lyrics (“What it look like?”, “Catch me Illin”, “Major”), a taste of reality (“Star”, “Remember Me”), and stellar production from The Skouts that will without a doubt set a new standard for the way music is made.

The squad goes hard on the albums introduction, “Bare Witness,” and wastes no time showing you their hunger and ambition.  One of the true delights of this project is the natural cohesion of Dux Jones and Oseeola on tracks like “Major,” “What it look like,” “Yellow Tape,” and “10 Freaky Girls.” Their unique lyrical styles blend perfectly and the two sound like they’ve been rapping together their whole lives.

On “Star” we hear Jab pour his heart out in an effort to help his family understand why he is working tirelessly to pursue his dream. “Cut Color Clarity”, by Oseeola & J. Strode, is a girl’s best friend, while the bonus track “Maneater” by Dux Jones is the lead off single from FrontStreet that is getting terrestrial radio acknowledgment worldwide and has been featured TWICE on iTUNES in the “New & Noteworthy” category.

World Famous Losers will definitely establish the “World Famous Loser” ideology as reality.  Anything you want, you work for. “They” will judge and ridicule, God, and your work ethic, will promote and advance you!

FrontStreet Records is known for its unusual marketing and branding strategies for the label and its artists. Now, with the release of “The World Famous Losers,” FrontStreet is taking creativity to a whole new level.
