The October issue of XXl Magazine is covered be none other than Kanye West titled “Love” and “Hate”. Of course, in true Kanye fashion his cover story is far from the norm, his 40 page section in the magazine consist of a first person narrative in which  he opens up about his mother’s death and the how the Taylor Swift incident changed him.

On his Mother’s Death

When I moved to LA, she moved to LA/ And she wound up in a place that would eat her alive. Even if I stayed in New York, it wouldn’t have been like that. If I had lived in New York, she’d still be here.”
On the Taylor Swift Incident

“In a way, I had thrown a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was,” he wrote. “Because I felt very alone.

“I stress that the incident wasn’t about Taylor personally, And it definitely wasn’t about race. Where I messed up is , at the end of the day, it’s your show, Taylor. It’s your show, MTV.”

On apologizing

“The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend. How could I not, at a certain point, be like, ‘I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been at the awards show. I’m sorry’? Not that I don’t deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn’t happen again.

On bouncing back

“I knew I wasn’t in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace.”

NEW YORK - APRIL 19: Musician Lauryn Hill attends the Tanzania Education Trust New York Gala hosted by President Jakaya Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania at Plaza Athenee on April 19, 2010 in New York City. (Photo by Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for The United Republic of Tanzania)

I am so excited to report that Lauryn Hill is back!  In true Lauryn Hill fashion she returned with a hit that has made a debut landing  her straight on the Billboard Charts Hot 100 with her new single “Repercussions.” This new single marks the first time that Laruryn Hill has made the Billboard Charts since 2005 when she featured on Method Man’s “Say.” As a solo artist, the last time Lauryn Hill made the Billboard Chart was in 1999 with her song “Turn Your Lights Down Low” featuring Bob Marley. Her last album ‘The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill’ was 12 years ago and I don’t know about you that but I can’t wait to hear more!

I wonder who will be featured on her album…I’m hoping for maybe Kanye West, Janelle Monae, and B.O.B.. That would be so hot!  I guess we will all have to wait patiently to see what Lauryn Hill has in store for us. Whatever it is I’m sure that it will be on repeat in my Ipod. I’m so thankful for her return during a time when real music is slipping through the cracks.

Special Screening Of Why Did I Get Married Too?

Tyler Perry has done it again with his new movie “Why Did I Get Married Too”. If you haven’t seen it yet…I highly recommend that you take a trip to the nearest movie theatre and check it out, especially if you are married or in a serious relationship. Like every other Tyler Perry movie it is filled with inspiration and life lessons that you can take with you outside of the theatre and into your daily life. In true Tyler Perry fashion, this movie shines light on real issues that couples deal with everyday. He touches on everything  from infidelity to the recession.

If you thought that “Why Did I get Married” was good, you will love this sequel. All of the couples return with some really suprising issues that keep you at the end of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next. Overall I was very pleased with the movie…the ending left me a little disappointed but I have a feeling that Tyler Perry is not done with these couples and I am looking forward to seeing what’s next.

StreetWear -

Hip Hop and fashion make the perfect marriage… Remember how LL wore Kango’s, or how Run DMC rocked Adidas, remember when B.I.G. made Coogi, and when Kanye West became the “Louie Vuitton Don”?

Now it’s our turn; FrontStreet Records recording artist OSEEOLA is StreetWear, period!

From the “Nobody Fronted Us” – s1 compilation – StreetWear, an ode to a culture inspired by a retro 80′s look, hipsters, and sneakers. This record is exactly what the culture has been missing, its anthem!

StreetWear is the “Star Spangled Banner” of the young, fly, and flashy.

The track has a potent bounce and is yet still soulful. Produced by The Skoutz Productions, Oseeola’s swagger and wordplay on the record is serious business this is the get fresh anthem!
