Since ‘The Jersey Shore’ is soooo popular right now I had to share this photo that I came across today. This is Mike Sorrentino aka “The Situation” when he was 17 years-old. Seems like this might have been before he became such a huge advocate of following a daily GTL ( grooming, tanning and laundry) routine. ” The situation” might have actually been a better title for this picture.lol.

This might be a good picture for us to poke fun at but  “The Situation” definitely gets the last laugh. He reportedly is getting $30,000 an episode for the third season of ‘Jersey Shore’. For all of you that aspire to be rich and famous but doubt yourself…think of  “The Situation” and the rest of the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore. They got off their butts and went to an audition and look where that got them. To be honest…. 5 years from now they will probably  be completely irrelevant but something tells me that for $30,000 an episode they can handle that. Fist pumping and getting wasted might not be your thing but whatever your thing is go for it cause there’s a good chance that it will work out for you. It may not be as easy to attain for you but a little hard work and dedication never hurt anyone especially if it means living out your dreams and accomplishing your goals.

51st Annual Grammy Awards - Red Carpet

Apparently a parent at Woodland Middle School in Henry County, GA was not too excited about T.I. appearing at his daughter’s school as a surprise guest for an anti-bullying assembly. The parent was so upset that he decided to write a letter to the principal of the school, expressing his anger.  He stated that he would have never let his 12 year old daughter attend if he would have known.  T.I. was there fulfilling his community service obligations last month.

“The first e-mail I sent to him was to ask that from now on we have some kind of parental input whether or not a speaker is appropriate. If I don’t want my child to be there, just give me the right to opt them out,” Myers said.

Myers also wrote in the e-mail, “How about next time, let him mow the grass or pick up the trash around the school grounds? If the kids see that they might understand that what he did was wrong.”

The principal had a very interesting response…

Principal Oatts replied, “I thought about asking a guy who snorted cocaine and got arrested for DUI when he was 30 to come and speak to our kids, but President George W. Bush was not available.” Oatts also when on to explain  that even the president has made mistakes when he was young and T.I.’s message was ‘to take their education seriously, put forth their best effort, pursue their dreams and not engage in bullying.”

I think that the parent had a right to be concerned but I think that he might have taken it a bit too far. I love the principal’s response though…I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Rai Knight - Sweet Anna Mae

Sweet Anna Mae is a glimpse into the fantasy world of a young lady chasing her dreams.  She aims high, but sharing her talents with the world is much harder then it seems.

Anna Mae knows, to get what she wants means fighting through her fears and giving her all at every crucial moment.  She knows, as far as talent is concerned, she’s got what it takes, but it takes a whole lot more soul searching to keep her composure when the world starts to watch.

Anyone striving for a dream can relate to Sweet Anna Mae, it’s safe to say that we all have fears to overcome.  Your heart will know the way when the time is right!

I found this fascinating quote today:

I just ran across this really amazing and very personal, moving video of Steve Jobs at Standford University: “…d rawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks — including death itself — at the university’s 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005…”Gerd Leonhard, MIDEM(Net) Blog, Dec 2009

You should read the whole article.
