Willow Smith Makes Me Wanna ‘Whip My Hair’
Willow Smith Makes Me Wanna ‘Whip My Hair’
By now I’m sure that you all have heard Willow Smith’s debut hit song ‘Whip My Hair’ and if you haven’t… clearly you have been living under a rock. Willow, the daughter of actors Will and Jada Smith has definitely made her mark with this song. Less than a month ago she dropped ‘Whip My Hair’ and already her single can be heard on just about every hip hop and pop radio station. Oh and did I mention she is signed to Jay-Z’ s label, Roc Nation. Yeah that’s right…that means she’s official!
Before I actually had the chance to hear this song, I heard the hype surrounding it and I must admit that I didn’t think twice about it. I remember saying that this was going to be another case of celebrities trying to push their not so talented child to follow in their footsteps. I was so wrong! This girl has got it going on…her swag is so ridiculous! The song is very positive and upbeat and I absolutely love it! She may have taken us by surprise with this one but I got a feeling that we can expect great things from this 9-year-old in the future.

On his Mother’s Death
When I moved to LA, she moved to LA/ And she wound up in a place that would eat her alive. Even if I stayed in New York, it wouldn’t have been like that. If I had lived in New York, she’d still be here.”On the Taylor Swift Incident“In a way, I had thrown a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was,” he wrote. “Because I felt very alone.
“I stress that the incident wasn’t about Taylor personally, And it definitely wasn’t about race. Where I messed up is , at the end of the day, it’s your show, Taylor. It’s your show, MTV.”
On apologizing
“The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend. How could I not, at a certain point, be like, ‘I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been at the awards show. I’m sorry’? Not that I don’t deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn’t happen again.
On bouncing back
“I knew I wasn’t in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace.”
