10 GRAND

It’s a sad world we live in when 10 grand is “rich”. The ambition to succeed tears a hustler’s soul apart; the fears, the doubts, the looking over your shoulder, the cars, the ice, the women, and GOD…

In the new installment of 52/50, Dux Jones offers a realistic look inside the life of a hustler; not the mansions with marble floors, but the accomplishment of grinding till he can say “no more”, maybe!

Jones’ rhymes from the perspective of a young man who’s got 10 grand stashed away with hopes of kicking his feet up.

The Skouts provide a grimy 808 heavy beat for Dux to discuss his characters exploits with women, cars, and money. This is a realistic success story in a game that is over saturated with exaggerated tales of hustling.

During the fall of 1987 Def Jam Recordings released Bad by LL Cool J which contained a song entitled I Need Love. I Need Love not only put LL Cool J in a category all by himself, but it also gave birth to the “hip hop ballad.” Since then it has almost became a requirement for an artist to appeal to his female fan base by having at least one ballad on their album.

Keeping up with tradition, FrontStreet Records releases Cupcake by Oseeola! Cupcake is a heartfelt record about a special female in Oseeola’s life. The chorus is a beautiful melody sang by FrontStreet’s go to crooner Gayle.
The track has a real mellow yet soulful feel and Oseeola’s lyrics will definitely put you in a good mood no matter what kind of day you are having.

With the economy affecting wall street as it has, it seems safer to stash “10 Grand” in a “SHOEBOX”.

Therefore, it seems right that the next installment from FSR’s 52/50 campaign comes from the labels’ vet Big Jab. Jab provides an anthem for those stacking money in their REAL bank account(s), those shoe boxes!

With a banging track and hook provided by The Skouts, all Jab had to do on this one was breeze through the verses and talk that ish that only he knows how to do.

“Make A Flick”

The first single of 52/50, “Make A Flick” has all the makings of a hit record; Catchy Chorus, Up Tempo beat and verses that fit the song perfectly.  Produced by The Skouts team leader Thirty, the beat and the chorus feel almost like an old school P Funk record. 2 of the 3 verses are handled by FrontStreet Freshmen Dux Jones and the third by Jab.  The song is about talking to a female and letting her know that you are coming through and what you are going to do, which in this case is “Make A Flick.”

So download the song for FREE and enjoy (and please be kind, rewind)
